And so summer begins...
Jul. 23rd, 2010 11:32 pmYes! I finished summer school.
I was most pleased with my website and that I got full points. I love getting an easy 'A.'
Learning a new skill can be fulfilling. I felt like I've been granted new opportunities and that more doors have unlocked for me. I tell you, community college is great that way.
Basically, in order for me to get into places like UCLA or UC Berkeley while majoring in Philosophy, all I have to do was to take a Modern Philosophy and Logic class and raise my GPA to above 3. 5. Around it, actually. Well, I got both classes down for the upcoming Fall and Spring semester, but well, it looks like I'll need to pull off straight A's while maybe taking a couple of B's to raise my GPA. Which may mean that most of my peers that I graduate high school with will have graduated from their universities and have taken their GRE's while I transfer to the school of my choice.
I'll try not to let that get to me.
I think it might be better that along the way I take classes that would be useful as strictly for AA degrees. Like maybe doing Multimedia for a while or getting licenses for tutoring and things like that. Better for the job market at least when I'm skilled at other things besides sorting out bullshit from the truth.
But anyway, now that I don't have to worry about deadlines, I really feel like my schedule is opened up to me. Like I can actually do more. Like maybe getting down to writing the fan fiction that's been floating around in my head. I think that doing the online class has given me a boost in confidence towards being a self-starter and that by doing these projects for the last few weeks I remembered how to be self-motivated.
Hopefully that will carry on to finishing at least one personal project before Fall semester starts.
Anyway! Off to watch Inception with a friend (whom I should text the movie times to).
