 He graduated from UCSB for two years already, and to him it's only after three months doing a programming internship does he have the opportunity to score an 80k job from an interview (fingers crossed), when he's done four years of hard work doing Chemistry where he'd have to compete for jobs that pay significantly less. 

And I dunno, sometimes I wish that I really had gotten down that path towards computer science or something as a major instead of my being a double Literature and Philosophy major. Concentration for LIt being World Lit and Culture, at that. 

There's even a greater pressure to have some coding skills onto job resumes for any kind of full time employment, too. Man, the technological reality that we're living in, today.
