What I'm Into Now
Oct. 29th, 2009 12:09 pmI'm currently in the school's language lab in order to kill time and earn hours towards my Japanese Class. It's a lab dedicated to improving your second language skills, but most use it to kill time as well. Which is why I'm here!
I just finished an English Midterm, and I'm somewhat nervous over it but not really because it's just about as easy as an SAT test with all the process elimination and all that jazz. Somewhat.
Anyway, I'm currently into the Final Fantasy VII craze, but I can say that I'm not some sort of loony fangirl that rejects logic and reason. I'm actually seriously considering writing a fanfiction about it, so I'm in the process of data gathering and writing up some little anecdotes and whatnot. I haven't been on livejournal enough to do thinks like forming links or whatever people do when they post fanfiction up here, but I'll learn eventually. I'm more inclined towards the Turks side of the story rather than speculating on the main Final Fantasy cast, and I'm hoping for a kind of episodic sort deal with my fiction. Kinda like a tv show, I guess.
Previously, I've been into Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series, and how I got into that was because Amazon.com recommended Persona 3 to me and I thought "What the hey, I'll take it out on a whim" and lo and behold I was not disappointed with my purchase. I've wrote four fanfiction stories about Persona 3, three of them completed, one multi-chapter one done, and one other multi-chapter one in the works. Though, my zeal for the series has kind of died down after playing that game five times and moving on to Persona 4 and Digital Devil Saga and Final Fantasy VII. I'm somewhat not quite as passioned about writing for Persona 4 because I really liked the story in that game and I felt so complete from it that I don't feel that loose ends were left abandoned that would let me speculate and whatnot, like in Persona 3. It's kind of like "I don't want to touch it and ruin something because I tried to mess with the story that was given to me" kind of feeling. I thought the Persona 4 game was that perfect to me, whereas Persona 3 sometimes has me tearing my hair out because of all the dumb and contrived things that those characters did that I just can't help but wonder why so and so happened.
Manga-wise, I follow Fullmetal Alchemist, xxxHolic, Naruto and NANA. I'm currently into NANA, and so I'm in the process of downloading the anime and buying the manga. Now, when I mentioned Naruto, I bet you're all going to be like "Pssh, what a groupie" or something like that. Well, I don't follow the anime anymore, which at the time I was going "Whatever, I'll just casually read this and not bother wasting memory on my netbook over some slow animated series" but I hear that things are picking up in that thing so maybe in the future I'll get back to it. I used to be waaaay into the ninja series, but then I just calmed myself down when things were really slowing down in both mediums. So I'm just casual about it. I did follow Tsubasa right up to when it finished, which was pretty good I think. I really enjoyed it, and I liked the open-endedness of the finale and epilogue. Confusing as hell, though, but it was a fun read. So I anticipate that xxxHolic would also end with many questions answered and theories adjusted. I kind of wished Clamp would finished X/1999 because I really like apocalyptic stories, but I don't think that'll happen anytime soon. Speaking of, I'm also watching the Kobato anime, which is very cute and darling. I used to also follow One Piece, because it's that entertaining, but then I ignored it for a couple of weeks and then I got confused all over again. I'll most likely pick it up later.
I think anime talks will be later, as I'll be meeting with a friend soon. And I work at the sushi restaurant tonight! And this weekend I'll be working at both Sushi Teri and at Cold Stone's at the same time! No Halloween for Fallon.... But tips and money galore!
