 Job searching a full time job is a soulless endeavor, which tricks you with hope from its qualifications section where hope quickly fades away once you've read: Fluency in another language, different education major, and/or submit a cover letter. 

All of which is not helped by parents with unsolicited advice that range from helpful to demeaning.
