I've played the game for a week now, and that's bad because I'm now becoming more irresponsible in my responsibilities. Because Dragon Age ate my free time. Waaaay too much.

I'm somewhat reminded of the battle system of Final Fantasy XII, since the use of tactics and such, but it's more convenient because some attack are already there to use and THEN let it be loaded up again. So I liked that, but it's not like I play many other RPG games outside of Japanese ones, silly me. And action games like Assassin's Creed, but you know I think that these Canadian video game developers have something special there. Bioware and Ubisoft tend to, I feel, have better representation of their characters, that is, they actually make them more interesting and well-rounded.

They make great stories and they back it up with good writing. "Beyond Good and Evil" and "Assassin's Creed" are good examples, and though I haven't seen much of Prince of Persia or Uncharted or Mass Effect and so forth, I can still get the understanding that they're all interesting for the most part.

Well anyway:

I play a female Cousland who wears her hair in prudish buns but has a harsh voice. I'm usually pragmatic in her dialogue choices, so I like to think of her as being too serious in appearance but when talking to her can be sympathetic and

Story: Currently trying to complete the campaign in the Deep Roads. I'm getting tired of these spiders dropping down and these seemingly-dead darkspawn sprouting up. Steadily trying to complete the side-missions, and am about to enter the Dead Trenches. I've completed Broken Circle, of which I dislike being in the Fade by myself. I also finished the Brecilian Ruins and thus gained favor with the Dalish Elves. I made it so the Werewolves can be cured and justice is brought. I finished the campaign in Redcliffe, but haven't recovered the Urn of Sacred Ashes. So once I finally finished Orzhammer and only go back there for side-quest completion, then I'll seek out Denerim and start finishing things.

Characters:

Alistair: Man, this guy is too adorable. It's nice to have a character who's expressive with his emotions. It makes conversing with him pretty engaging, since it's never very boring. I like his banter with Morrigan, which is teasing and biting but it's not with animosity like Morrigan can be with Leliana and Wynne. I'd like to think Alistair may also have a bit of a thing for her, but may not be who he's looking for. He can be kind of smooth when he wants to: during the Broken Circle arc in the tower, I talked to him which started with him asking what I'll do after all the fighting is over and then one thing led to another and then KISS, and I was like "Woah damn, that was unexpectedly hot." So yeah, I totally dig romancing Alistair. And I got the rose. So all I need to do is complete his family quest and I'll be home free.

Morrigan: It's kind of a shame that Morrigan is only interested in guys, because I really dig her. But I can totally form a great sisterhood with her, and so I like having conversations where she opens up. I also really like how she speaks and tells stories, which is very lyrical and engaging. I really do like her banter with Zevran, though. I think they might make some pretty mad sparks together. I also like how straightforward she can be, and that she can be wonderfully blunt towards other people with stricter mindsets.
Although, I-I want everyone to be like a nakama to each other.... I wish everyone can totally be like One Piece!

Zevran: Hilarious, bro. I totally dig elven! Puss-in-Boots. I like how he can ruffle feathers with the ladies, and I'm not quite sure whether whatever he says to them is serious or not. I think he likes to make people outraged.

Oghren: Aaaaaand now I got Ogrhen in my party and he picks up the (sexual harassment) flirting slack when I left out Zevran from the Deep Roads. Totally dig him, if only because he has Steven Blum being naughty to everyone. And being a badass. Who's also a boozehound. I look forward to Zevran and Oghren banter.

And that's all for today.
