Happy New Year, 2009!

Wow, it's 2009 already. I guess now the remnants of high school are at last left behind and I can go forward as a college freshman. I mean, since half of 2008 was spent as a high school senior, now I can focus more on making 2009 to 2012 to be the years when I will remember my college years. If that makes sense.

So... what happened to me during winter break...

My winter break started Dec. 13 and will end on January 26. It's a really long break, and as of now I'm getting pretty bored of it. During the month of December, I have been able to reconnect with my friends from high school. I've hung out with singular friends and just last night I've a sleepover with a group of girls that I'm really glad I've known during my tenure as a high school senior. We've stayed up to watch "Mamma Mia," which to me is just a movie about singing but it's kind of fun, then we watched the ball drop in Time Square on the tv, and went back to watching "Anastasia" and sang some of the songs in it. Dmitri is, in my opinion, on of the most handsome cartoon movie character in the history of modern animation. However, I also think that the facial expressions in the movie were kind of over-the-top; it's kind of no wonder that the animation studios of 20th Century Fox went bye-bye because of animation costs. It was a sleepover to remember...

I've also saved up to get a PS3 (along with some assistance from my folks). It's a 60 GB PS3 that I won on ebay, and the reason I finally upgraded was because my PS2 is going down the crapper with my newer games (like Persona 4) and so I thought if I'm going to replace it, I may as well get a PS3 with backwards compatibility.

It worked for a couple of days.... then stopped reading the discs.

So on Boxing Day, I've sent it back to the company I won it from and hoped that I will either get a refund or a replacement. Geez....

Maybe I should've gone for that used 80 GB with the backwards compatibility that I've seen on Amazon.com. It's the Motor Storm bundle ( I think I spelled that right) and it's only $20 more which includes rather cheap shipping. I should've looked into more options on Amazon instead... oh well.

So, the month of January. I think I'm going to help out with my high school's musical, since my old theater teacher asked me to, and since I've not other things to do during break, I'm going to take up his word for it. As well as working more hours, I think I'm also going to look for more jobs and stop my old ones, since my school schedule is changing and I need to adjust to my school needs while having time to make money. Oh, the life of a college student trying to transfer...
