Let's do a Recap

zen_monkSo it's been around two months since my last post, and the post before that was probably a little longer. Well, I don't think many would complain about the lack of updates so much, as I've mostly used this journal to scrounge around for fandom updates on various communities, as well as scavenging for various icons. And, most importantly, to get the update on people whom I communicated in a way and would like to get in touch with. I'm somewhat hesitant to say friends, given how private I am on this journal, which does account in real life, but I hope to make a change in that somehow.
So I think a recap on who I am is in order:
My name is Fallon, I live in Santa Barbara and I attend the city college there in hopes of transferring successfully. I'm 19 years old as of August 9th and I am Chinese-American. My hobbies are watching animated cartoons/movies both in North America and in Japan, watching movies of various genres, reading comics of many kinds and reading books of various kinds. Somewhat broad hobbies, but I'm a fairly general sort of person.
In high school, I don't really feel like I belong in a specific kind of group, and I can say for certain that the majority of my high school's students feel the same way. To illustrate that, I have friends who are cheerleaders who get A's on Calculus tests, ballerinas who does jazz interpretative while studying botany and all kinds of biological sciences in her current college, theater people who are both cast and stagecrew who are either songwriters or had participated in the Engineering program that makes robots as their final grade, surfers who can make a decent sonnet while being part of the Youth government which is conjoined with the City Council, anime/manga otaku who get part-time jobs in the local strip mall, and jocks who are in the Leadership/Student Government and do Improv when the season calls for it. I am also friend with a possible genius, who is now in Harvard, or just simply an extremely motivated person who is (quite mostly) ALL OF THE ABOVE. I can write a whole journal on how he is some sort of renaissance man who will most likely change the world as we know it, but that's more of my indulgence and I don't think he'd appreciate strangers knowing about him.
How I fit into this spectrum? Well, I suppose I am the intellectual who geeks out on geeky subjects like video games, comic books and movies with a personality that is so memorable, in fact, that I was nominated as a Homecoming Princess during my senior year. I'm pretty about that fact, given that I never really do anything like play a sport or participated in school government or had a significant role in theater whether it be in a cast (which I was in) or being a stage ninja. Or really ever reach out to anyone in my class. In fact, I guess I can be called a selfish person, content with just being with friends or not talking to anybody in class and putting in my opinion when I want to express something. I never had drama or was implicated in some sort of event prior to being in the Royal Court. But I can say that I've made very good, everlasting friends and that I've thoroughly had a good time at school being myself and not being anyone else other than myself.
I also work part-time. I currently work at Cold Stone Creamery and at a sushi restaurant called Sushi Teri as a waitress. I'm thinking of dropping my ice cream flipping job so that I won't go crazy because of school, but we'll see how this will work out. At school, right now, I'm cranking 15 units; one English class, Japanese 103, History of Western Civilization (up to the 1600s), Yoga, and Film Studies (Great Directors). My favorite thus far are Japanese and Film Studies. English, I wish I could make it one of my favorites since it's certainly one of the easiest, but the thing is being that class reminded me of high school. It's mostly the classmates' fault because I swear to God that they all never matured past 16 years old. So frustrating.
These are the bare bones of me so far, but I promise that more will come later.
