Nov. 20th, 2013 09:29 pm So on November 20th, there was a strike at UCSC from 5 AM to 8 PM, where the workers on-campus: such as the TAs, tutors, dining hall staff, bus shuttle drivers, and etc. are protesting for the decreased in wages widespread for all staff while the administration gets a raise. As well as the decrease in wages for TA’s, who do most of the work for their professors, and the Student Union (or other such groups) are protesting alongside them against the increase in tuition.
They are also going to barricade the entrance of the school grounds, leaving the city bus shuttles to limit their stops at the base of campus rather than going through campus.
Taking advantage of this day to rest up and catch up on reading. Feels like the weekend just happened, tho.
