Today, I woke up late and played "Catherine" while my little brother recovers from wisdom teeth post-op on the couch. I remember those times and I don't envy him.

Later in the evening, my dad, my brother and I went to the local B'nai B'rith congregation to celebrate Hannukah. I foolishly ate rigatoni pasta before we left, so I was nearly catatonic in my seat while Glen Philips played his songs and be the opening for the cantor to start up the traditional songs.

I saw people there; saw people I was familiar with in high school, so I made sure to pretend I didn't see them and avoided them. I saw my favorite conservatory guy there whom I haven't seen in a few years. He was sick the last time I saw him so it was great to see him healthy and active. I think his illness involves having glucose being transformed into alcohol when processed in his body, or something like that.

I also reconnected with a childhood friend, so after the ceremony we made s'mores in the back of the congregation while a magician showed off his FIRE-JUGGLING SKILLZ.

I knew the B'nai B'rith congregation is awesome-sauce, with their constant spread of bagels and salmon and pastries, as well as awesome music, but they really went all out with Glen Philips and magicians and freaking CONGRESSWOMAN LOIS CAPPS and the Mayor of Santa Barbara being there giving a speech. There really is a lot of cool people here. There was also this theme of having solar energy incorporated into the program, since it was very recently that the solar panels the congregation installed on their roof became activated, and my extended family was the largest donor in that development, there was much shout-out to that.

So in short; Hannukah is cool beans. *thumbs up*

And.... I got ash in my hair from the fireplace, so I have to wash my hair the second time that night.... -_-
