First Day: Chinese lessons.

Hi, I'm new to this interesting website. This place seems kind of fun, not really sure what's too special about it, but I'm willing to try it.
Now today is kind of ok, not really complaining. Chinese classes at the City College is actually harder than I thought, even though it's over in a little bit more than a week. And by then the whole class can go to a Chinese restaurant as a celebration :D. But still, maybe I should have taken philosophy or Culinary Arts or Theatre or something. I mean, don't get me wrong, Chinese is awesome. I can talk to my GRANDMOTHER for crying out loud. But to sit there day after day from monday to friday, it gets tiring! To top it off I find out that I have grammer troubles. Chinese is NOT a piece of cake, people, especially if you're being bested by your Caucasion peers.
How hard is Chinese? The Chinese writing system have tens of thousands of characters, four rather difficult phonetic sounds for each words, an intricate grammer system, and let's not forget, each word can be AMBIGUOUS! Meaning it means more than one way! Thankfully, Chinese 101 covers basic Chinese and only 90 characters, but memorizing 90 and only a handful of them in a test is now small feet. Especially the strokes and the pinyin, and the lack of really familiar faces in the fifteen student classroom. There's more people older than me and an 8th grader from Ventura. But I'm not lonely, nope. Just a little, maybe, but I can survive. Just as long I've learned how to love, I know I'll stay alive. Wow, I'm being funny today!
