Jan. 18th, 2015 02:26 am My brother wanted to get into the Dragon Age series, so I let him use my Origin account so that he could play Origins and DA2 on his computer (and also because my other pc downloadable files of those same games apparently download at a snail's pace compared to Origin, but then we run into other issues regarding origin log-ins...)
which then resulted in him buying Inquisition on my account which I have mixed feelings about (because on one it's his money so he now has more right to my account unless i square that off with buying him Inquisition on his [or another acceptable route]).
As a test, I downloaded Inquisition today and made sure to set all graphics into something akin to crappy early PS2 graphics/advanced PS1 graphics.
And apparently I can play this game???? Even though this computer has not-game specced mechanics???
I guess this means I should just take a lot of breaks on this game, but we'll see if I can actually play the damn thing.
[good bye college, i already feel guilty in not seeing you.]

Date: 2015-01-18 01:15 pm (UTC)The need to upgrade is strong within me, but I promised myself already to save for a PS4 [though now i'm renegotiating myself for a PC] and not to spend too much of my college money on (wasteful food and booze) extravagances. Ah, the budget life. IN some ways this is the time for me to blow money on indulgences that won't ruin me for the long-term, and yet still I shudder.

Date: 2015-01-18 01:22 pm (UTC)I'm holding off on the PS4 until there is one game which I really want to play which can't be had on any other platform, and to date everything is on PC and with better reviews for PC performance.
Plus the benefit of a high powered computer for uni work as well -- much more versatile.

Date: 2015-01-19 03:00 am (UTC)and incidentally enough this computer I'm using is good enough to play FFXIV at a comparatively good rate, and getting a PS4 would just simply be me moving from computer to tv so that I can get in on A Realm Reborn expansions and probably Kingdom Hearts.

Date: 2015-01-19 03:03 am (UTC)Tho at the kind of university work I'm doing, I think that I would probably thrive just as well on a netbook or a tablet with a keyboard (which i do have), since the life of a humanities major is the battle of words and program candidacy qualifications ^^;

Date: 2015-01-19 03:42 am (UTC)Yeah, the off the shelf computers are always ridiculously costed. I've had some luck with friends' recommendations of little computer places that do custom builds, but it's also a matter of knowing exactly what each part does so you know they're not upselling for no reason...maybe forums?
